Class stuff

March 2, 2008

Have been working on the new block Lotto pattern, plan on making some blocks today. Funny thing, I can't find any black. We are using black as the background this time to set off the springy pastels. So I might have to make a trip to get some...

The Tshirt classes are both full at this time. If you had wanted to take it and didn't get signed up in time, let me know & I will schedule another class.

I also finished the Peek-a-Boo Rag quilt. It is at the store and ready to go. I can't hang it yet as there is no room for it, but after I take down the Tshirt quilt next week, I will be able to.

What's next???? If you have any ideas for class projects you'd like to see, let me know.

Class stuff

January 20, 2008

It's been a busy week with classes and trying to finish the T-Shirt Quilt. It is now finished and hung on display at the store. I started a new tablerunner today. I wanted to do something paper-pieced  and a tablerunner is a nice project, smaller but a good chance to practice this technique. Hopefully I will get it finished tomorrow night.

The December Block Lotto winners were Rosemary McMullen & Terry Adams. They each won 16 blue & white Anvil blocks.  I can't wait to see what they do with them.

Log Cabin Class

November 17, 2007

The Log Cabin Classes went so fast today. Everyone got a lot done and there are some beautiful quilts emerging. I can't wait to see them finished. De and Theresa couldn't come today, so I am anxious to see their quilts too. I will post more pictures when I get them.

I plan to work on the Sampler #7 quilt tomorrow. Haven't really gotten anything concrete yet, it's all in my head. Could be dangerous there!

Block Lotto

November 4, 2007

So far we have had 3 block lottos and they have been very successful. We have had 9 lucky people win 13 - 16 blocks each in these drawings. Remember to bring in your finished quilts made from these blocks so I can post pix for all to see. It is fun to see what each person does with them.

They are:

Milky Way Block: Donna Bernhardt, De Boehm  & Bev Clark

Sawtooth Star Block: Linda Jones, Darlis Lupton & Patty Sullivan

Paths and Stiles Block: April Knott, Julia Whitesides & Peggy Fuller

The new block for Nov/Dec is the Anvil Block done in Blues and Whites. I can't wait to see them!

Sunday catch-up

November 4, 2007

I just finished posting the last of the class updates, as well as some recent pix of Debbie's & Jackie's Round Bargellos, also Diane S, De, & Diane T's fall tablerunners. They all turned out beautifully. Jackie is the only one that I know of who has tried putting the 2 circles together, and it is awesome - you might be inspired to try it. Debbie tried machine quilting on her sewing machine and she did a wonderful job on her bargello. It is such a good feeling to finish something, isn't it?

Some friends and I met yesterday for a sewing/chatting day. We had so much fun and worked on getting some projects closer to completion, as well as catching up on all the gossip.

I have been working on the patterns for Sampler Club #7, haven't got it all figured out yet, but getting there. Hope to start sewing it this week.

Updating.....

October 14, 2007

I have finally gotten some updates done on my webpages, mainly updating classes and adding some pictures this morning. So check out  pg 6 and pg 7  to see some pix of the newest Beginning Quilters, the Potato Chip Quilts and some tablerunners. I also posted a pic of Linda's Hidden Star Quilt. It is gorgeous.

New quilt

September 9, 2007

I have been working on a new quilt for class today. I have had several requests to do a Log Cabin quilt class,  so decided I would give it a whirl. I am using all pinks. Not really the traditional colors for a log cabin, but I think it will be pretty. The Log Cabin is one of the quilts that is very traditional and the first ( I think) book that Eleanor Burns published. It  started her Quilt in a Day series and it was also the quilt she introduced her strip piecing methods with. It is still a very popular quilt and easy and fun to do.

Better get back to it.

Holiday weekend

September 2, 2007

Well, we had 3 winners again in the Block Lotto this week. There were a lot of pretty blocks and I think this color scheme will make some striking quilts. I will post some pictures when we get some finished tops from the winners. We will be using fall colors in the next block.

So far this weekend I have done a little shopping, a little quilting, and a little relaxing. It has been great!
